About Showcases:

Many junior tennis players in high school have the dream of playing college tennis. Finding a school that fits your academic and athletic requirements can often be a challenge. One big challenge most student athletes face is getting exposure to college coaches. Regardless of your ranking, accomplishments and academic standing, our exposure events allow players and parents to learn the secrets on how to get recruited, make a lasting impression on college coaches and showcase your talent. College coaches want to evaluate players in competitive match situations and interact with them on a personal level. They will take every opportunity to come see players, and they do! ImRecruitable organizes college showcases to help facilitate the recruiting opportunity for players and college coaches.

The Showcases are designed to provide players the chance to compete in competitive matches in front of college coaches representing top athletic and academic schools in the country. Athletes often have a difficult time gaining exposure due to busy tournament schedules, school and location. Participating in these events has proven to be an invaluable opportunity for all.

Steve Patton

Tennis Scout - Southeast Asia

Steve Patton was born in Arizona and has always loved sports. He had an opportunity to play tennis for the first time at age 14, and shortly after, began competing in tournaments throughout the Southwest Section. Upon graduating from high school, Steve's junior ranking earned him a scholarship to play at Western New Mexico University where he competed at the #1 position in both singles and doubles. He also served as the team captain 3 out of the 4 years he competed, was nominated Athlete of the Year in 2004, and was an Academic All-American.

"Playing college tennis and being part of a team really grew me as a person, a leader, and a student. It was an awesome opportunity that I hope to be able to help others experience as well."  - Steve

Shortly after graduating from WNMU, Steve acquired his USPTA certification and accepted a job as the head tennis professional at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson AZ. There he assumed full responsibility for all tennis lessons, clinics, camps, tournaments, and development programs. It was there that he started the Tucson Tennis Academy which provided a junior development program for beginner through advanced ability level players, including players who went on to receive college scholarships.

Now after having coached and mentored players in America for more than 10 years, Steve is working internationally and is excited to be a part of the WAM team providing an avenue for players within Southeast Asia to study as collegiate athletes in America.
