What is Rescue College Sports?

Rescue College Sports aims to be a large contributor in helping ALL college sports teams with the necessary funds required to continue running a successful sports program and providing a priceless student athlete experience. With major budget cuts already happening due to COVID-19, teams across the nation will continue to feel the impact of this terrible pandemic and we will see more and more colleges having to make the tough decision to cut budgets or drop sports teams. College Sports are a huge part of the American culture and a great opportunity for students to thrive in sports and academics. We want to Rescue as many teams as possible.

Rescue College Sports was created and built by IMRecruitable Founder and CEO Tarek Merchant, along with, Jon Sklenar from the IM RECRUITABLE Team, Eric Larue (Tennis Coach Hanover College) and Andy Crabtree (Golf Coach Oklahoma City University). Merchant came up with the idea, and then immediately brought in Coach Larue who is very vocal about the issues and budget cuts for non revenue sports. Shortly thereafter, Coach Crabtree joined the team to help launch the campaign with his non profit National Youth Golf Association. Through conversations with college coaches, fans, parents of student athletes and sports companies, Merchant knew there would be immediate interest in helping raise money for this important cause.

What is the National Youth Golf Association

The National Youth Golf Association (NYGA) is a nonprofit nonstock corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. NYGA’s mission is to help youth through golf and all sports.

What are you choosing to get behind supporting college sports teams?

Due to COVID-19 (CoronaVirus) pandemic, colleges were forced to shut down on campus operations and move to online schooling. All college teams spring seasons were canceled. College revenue has dropped dramatically and therefore the budgets and funding required to support teams is being heavily impacted. Teams are in need of our support more than ever to avoid major budget cuts that will drastically effect the way college sports are conducted or in the worst case, discontinued (dropped) from the colleges sports offerings.

Who is benefitting from Rescue College Sports?

Rescue College Sports, operated by the National Youth Golf Association, will benefit the college sports teams in need of relief due to COVID-19 . Together, the goal in mind is to rescue sports teams from becoming discontinued and to keep as many sports teams from colleges alive. More than ever, colleges will struggle to provide the necessary budgets to allow sports teams to operate as intended and offer the great college student-athlete experience. 100% of all funds raised through our checks, bank/ACH transfer and our  “Donate Now” option on www.imrecruitable.com/rescuecollegesports or www.rescuecollegesports.com will be donated directly to the sports teams that apply and qualify for aid.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

As a tax-exempt organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code, the National Youth Golf Association is eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. After payment is received, donors will receive a written acknowledgement for their tax records reflecting the amount they donated. Those with US tax liability may use that acknowledgement to seek favorable tax treatment for a portion of their donation, as applicable. Please consult your tax advisor for more information on tax-deductible contributions and their applicability to your individual situation. This is not legal or tax advice.

How long will the Rescue College Sports Campaign be running?

The Rescue College Sports Campaign will kick-off on Tuesday, May 19 and end August 31, but can easily be extended if we can continue to raise money. The goal is to raise as much money as possible for college sports teams.
